Top Suspects Deny Charges In Sleepy Hollow Murder: Crane, Van Ripper Deny Allegations Of Wrongdoing In Sleepy Hollow
Early Winter, Sleepy Hollow – The body of Sleepy Hollow’s much loved and respected woodsman was found murdered near the bridge in Sleepy Hollow. Townsfolk raised a cry against the “Headless Horseman”, but further investigation points toward two top suspects.
Twenty three year old Icharus Crane, stranger to the townsfolk and newcomer to Sleepy Hollow, denies allegations, placing himself at the Van Brunt manor or thereabouts, at the time of the crime. Clara Tanner, wife of the deceased, points an enraged finger at Crane, declaring him chief instigator in her husbands death…although facts point toward a second possible perpetrator of the dastardly deed.
Braughton Van Ripper, nephew to Hans Van Ripper and a well-known “friendly face” in Sleepy Hollow as well as presumptive beau to Katherine Van Brunt, Baltus Van Tassel’s grand-daughter and Brom Bones’ only heir, also denies the heinous charge, claiming his whereabouts to have been outside the Hollow when the murderer struck.
Who killed John Tanner? Although several citizens claim to have seen a “headless rider on horseback” the night of the murder, townsfolk are wary and undecided.
